How to Prepare for UPSC IES / ISS, Preparation Tips, Exam Pattern | Indian Economics Service (IES) | Indian Statistics Service (ISS) | IES / ISS Exam Pattern and Preparation Scheme


Competitive examination like Indian Economic Service (IES) and Indian Statistics Service (ISS) is conducted by UPSC every single year. In 2011, the examination will be held on 03rd December in all across in India at 22 allocated centers. Undoubtedly these are one of the stiff exams conducted by UPSC. So preparation should also be matched with complication of exam. By this drive UPSC opt one of the best mind from Economics and Statistics fertinity from Indian horizon.

Like other influential examinations it (IES) is conducted through English Medium. The examination comprises 06 Papers such as General English, General Study, General Economics I, II & III and Indian Economics. Total 1000 marks are allotted for the written test exercise. Out of 1000 marks; 200 marks are allotted to each of 4 paper of Economics and Rest 200 marks are equally divided into General English and General Study paper. Three hours is given to solve the questions.
Exam pattern of ISS is as much same as IES. Only the paper of Statistics substitute General Economics paper, so does allotted marks. Rest of other paper are same. But syllabus of both the examination never overlap each other.
Cracking the particular examination is vital task ahead of contenders. Candidates have to shown his or mental strength in the examination. Through regular exercises and rigorous practice candidates will be able to get success. Always remember the fact there is no any shortcut for success. So, be cautious and try to cover up each and every topics of Paper, either it is interesting or not!
Here are few tips, which would be helpful during exam preparation: -
1. Using NCERT books for making right concept
2. Always keep a tab on Recent Incidents all around the globe
4. More emphasis on Essay Writing
